Corner of Campbell and Vulcan streets, Moruya
Sat 4th Jul 2020 til Sun 26th Jul 2020

Inspired by Australia’s leading textile Artist, Mona Hessing a selected group of Artists from EFTAG (Eurobodalla Fibre and Textile Artist Group) come together to pay tribute in ‘Shimmering: The Mona Hessing tribute project’.

EFTAG was fortunate enough to have some Hessings’ materials donated to the group which each artist will use to produce a unique response for this exhibition. The exhibition will feature both 2D and 3D works of natural braided sisal and hand dyed, hand spun wool with silk slubs.

EFTAG formed in 2005 through shared interests and a passion for textile art. Since then the group has had over 100 members that have shared and learned skills to promote fibre and textile arts

Mona Hessing (1933-2001) was an Australian weaver who was instrumental in moving the form from the constraints of fine cloth made on a loom to the freedom, scope and scale enjoyed by contemporary textile artists today.
